ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

Don't forget the AGM is in two weeks - Saturday May 15, commencing at
10A - look forward to seeing you then. Refreshments will be available.

POOL AND PARKING

The pool fence is in and I must say I think it looks good. The car
park has been gravelled, so that certainly looks a lot better.

PROGRESS REPORT

David and Hazel have been in Florida for a few days at a nice
Graduation ceremony - and a bit of a break from docks!! Back home
again we find progress has continued well. The connecting piers are
now being constructed - pilings have been driven as we start to
position the docks (yes that's right where they currently sit is not
their final position!!!)

More truckloads of docks arrive tomorrow from New York and work will
commence from the circle towards the bridge. I will get some photos out soon.

Work has begun on putting an overflow from the pool in an effort to
prevent damage to the liner when we have heavy rains.

DOCKS BY THE TRUCKLOAD

OUR FIRST NEW DOCKS ARRIVE

5 truckloads of our new docks arrived into Urbanna late last night
and were unloaded this morning into the creek at Urbanna Marine, they
were then ferried across to UHYC. These new docks form the
circle. Quite an exciting event. The pilings all arrived over the
last few days and these are all at Cobb's Creek.

happening at UHYC. We look forward to seeing you all at the AGM May 15.

THE CONNECTING BRIDGE IS NOW GONE

Here is the last of the south connecting bridge being
dismantled. Still on schedule.

PHOTOGRAPHS FROM URBANNA BRIDGE

Photographs showing the barge at work taking the walkways down. High
tides have plagued us this week as you can see. The rest of week
promises to be sunny and warmer.

DEMOLITION MOVING ALONG

Photographs taken from Urbanna Bridge today - slightly better weather
- progress is good.

DISAPPEARING DOCKS

I took this photo this morning but it's a bit foggy and drear in
Urbanna today, so not such a great image. Here you can see the
walkways are being removed. You can also see the very high tides we
are having of late.

REMOVING THE WALKWAYS

Work has started on removing the walkways - some near Urbanna Bridge
have already gone. All of the decks have been separated from the
pilings and are sitting on the stringers waiting to be lifted off and
carried away. All the mooring pilings and finger piers have
gone. Everything is proceeding according to plan. First floating
dock delivery will be early April.

Nearly all the finger piers have gone!

Loading the barges ready for towing away. Everything going according to plan.

REMOVING THE OLD DOCKS

progress. Everything seems to be on schedule.

VMRC PERMITS IN HAND

Several members of the dock committee went down to Norfolk to VMRC
and we are now authorized officially to go ahead.

EMPTY DOCKS

Thank you all for honoring the deadline for moving boats from their
slips at UHYC despite the appalling weather. The harbour looks so
strange and empty - must get some photos. Demolition is beginning
with removal of all pedestals.
