WIINTERIZATION

It's that time of the year again!    As is usual UHYC docks will be winterized as from tomorrow 10th November.

URBANNA OYSTER FESTIVAL

We hope you will be able to come to Urbanna for the Oyster Festival Friday and Saturday November 7 and 8;   you should have already received your parking passes.    If you have a renter, please ensure that your renter gets one of the parking permits.

During the Oyster Festival we have arranged for a water taxi service to come over to our docks and pick up any slip owner who wishes to go across the creek to Urbanna.   This water taxi will use our pump out dock and also the T jetty on the south dock.    

PLEASE REMEMBER THAT NO BOATS ARE PERMITTED TO BE MOORED ON ANY OF OUR T DOCKS AT ANY TIME.  ANYONE ENDEAVORING TO MOOR AT SUCH DOCKS WILL BE ASKED TO LEAVE.

LAST MARKET OF THE SEASON

Please join us this Saturday, September 13th, for the
Urbanna Farmers Market in Taber Park from 9:00 - 1:00. This
will be the LAST  Farmers Market in Urbanna for this season,
so you won't want to miss it!



There will be music by Paige Melton, a 50/50 Raffle and much more.

URBANNA HAPPENINGS

The Cat Daddy Band will perform this Saturday August 16 at Taber Park - the final concert in the Music Under the Stars series sponsored by the town of Urbanna.   

It's free Admission so come join us from 7 to 9 p.m.  Bring a picnic,  lawn chairs  or blankets and enjoy two hours of fun.

There will be music by Morgan Stewart, a 50/50 Raffle and much more! We're expecting a wide variety of vendors, new ones as well as old favorites! There will be fresh produce, plants, baked goods, hot dogs, hamburgers, handmade crafts, gifts, jewelry, art and more. 
 
Bring your friends and family and enjoy a fun time while supporting our local community. While you're in town, stop by the great restaurants and shops in Downtown Urbanna. 
 
And don't forget to stop by the Middlesex County Public Library booth to purchase your lottery tickets – a chance to win $10,000!!! Proceeds support the Urbanna and Deltaville branches, which provide wonderful services to our community and our children!

Urbanna is having it's Independence Day Celebratory firework display as usual - this year it will take place on Saturday July 5th.

Please remember - no fireworks or incendiary items of any kind (sparklers etc.) on boats or on the docks at UHYC!!!!!

URBANNA HAPPENINGS

The Chesapeake Oyster Company has now opened in Urbanna.  This restaurant is where Mojos used to be.  The sign on the window says they are open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and they do take out as well.  I believe they are open from Wednesday through Saturday.

Yea!!! We now have a new seafood market open in the Urbanna
area! The new market, Urbanna Seafood Market, is in the same
location as the old Shores and Ruark market at 453 Johnsons
Dr, (from Urbanna, turn right on Burrells Marina Rd and
follow the signs). Contact them at 758-8588 to order in
advance.

They are open Mon-Sat, 10-7, and they hope to be open year
round. They have fresh seafood and will also offer cooked
food for "take-out only" from 11-7. It is not a restaurant,
since they don't serve food, but the take out will be
available by land and by boat! Let's all support them so
they can be successful!

Memorial Weekend

The swimming pool will be open this weekend - and we hope we will have some nice weather to enjoy it.

The lock on the gents toilet at the north dock has not yet been repaired, but this is underway - please bear with us as we wait for our locksmith to remedy this.

As in previous years the pool will be officially open for Memorial Day weekend.

Annual General Meeting

A final reminder that tomorrow, April 26th,  we are holding our Annual General Meeting - commencing at 10:30 a.m. in the clubhouse on Molly's Way.

GEESE AND GOSLINGS

PLEASE drive carefully through Urbanna Harbour as we have our annual family of Canada Geese at the roadside.   We have 6 pretty little goslings.

We appreciate your taking care in the area of the pond.

Just a reminder that the repair work for the north docks commences on Monday!

DEWINTERIZING THE DOCKS

Due to the severe winter we have had our Maintenance Director has arranged for the docks to be dewinterized for the weekend commencing April 11.

SLIPS FOR RENT

The website has been updated with slips for rent. There are several
at either north or south docks.

Take heart - maybe winter is almost over - the geese are back on the pond!!

It's time for our first Artists' Reception of 2014!
For the first time since we opened the Gallery, in 2011, WE are the featured artists!
The plan was always to be images of Ireland, and it was to have included our paintings as well as photographic images.
However, we've been so busy promoting everyone else's art that we never had time to pull out the paints and get back into it!
But, we have more than 40 original matted & framed photographs of Ireland, taken by us, printed by us, and framed by us.

Please come this Friday January 26 - 5-8p.m. and enjoy some food, beverages, and the good company of our supporters!
